Fiesta California was a great success April 24-26. Our yearling black PRE filly, Alba, scored a 73.5 which earned her second place and best movement. Palabrista, our three-year-old filly, earned 74.091 which earned her fifth place out of a large group of fillies. We will be taking our two girls to Las Vegas in August.

We are excited to announce the purchase of the imported black filly, Alba (Impetuoso XX x Alba CIII). She has lots of size and motion. Her head and neck are extraordinary. Watch for her in the showring and for her foals in the future.

During the recent visit with ANCEE we had five yearlings inscribed and our two homegrown mares (Galaxia and Palabrista) revised. The girls passed their breeding approval just in time for breeding season. Galaxia will be bred to Novelisto D and Palabrista will be bred to Fandango del Sol.

Congratulations to Juan Alvarez and Sandy Cazares on their purchase of Maya (Kestrel x Girasol).

Maya is now the 2007 Region 1 Champion Futurity Weanling Filly out of a great class of weanling fillies! Her new owners are just getting a sense of the success ahead of them with this extraordinary filly. Kestrel continues to produce wonderful foals with the conformation and presence to win.

Benedicto GF

We are proud to announce the acquisition of the PRE bay yearling colt, Benedicto GF, sired by Gaucho III and out of the Ebanisto mare, Bruja XLIII. His movement is an amazing combination of elevation, extension and suspension that is truly hard to believe. Watch for him in the future. All our fillies will be sold with a complementary breeding to Benedicto.

THE 2003 NATIONAL CHAMPIONSHIPS

Our newest mare, Girasol, is now a National Champion! She won Three-year-old Futurity Mare. Watch for her next year in Junior Mares and Saddleseat.

THE 2003 REGIONAL SHOW, Region 1

At the 2003 Regional show in September, for Region 1, our weanlings won three of the four weanling Futurities. Kestrel's two Half-Andalusian weanlings, Murcielago ST and Carrera ST, won the Colt and Filly Futurities. Modena, a half-sister to Kestrel, won the Purebred Weanling Filly Futurity out of a tough group of fillies. Kestrel's yearling Half-Arabian filly, Aaliyah, was Reserve Champion Half-Andalusian Yearling Futurity Filly. We continued our great show with Shaman and his Championship win in two-year-old geldings.

Del Mar is always a great place to be in July and the Sun and Surf Show was our gelding, Shaman's, first show. He won the Two-year-old Gelding class and a Gold Medal Best Movement Award. He also went on to win Grand Champion Gelding. Not bad for a first show.
